The blessed month of Ramadan is finally here! This special and long-awaited guest made his entrance on the night of Friday, April 1, 2022. A blessing from Allah for giving us life to be able to once again live it and enjoy its merits while hoping for forgiveness from the divine.

Every year during Ramadan, thousands of people head to Mecca and Medina to experience a special pilgrimage: the Ramadan Umrah Packages .

Umrah, like the month of Ramadan, are precious moments and periods for believers. Filled with wisdom and blessings. They are both an opportunity not to be missed, Al Maqam explains why.

RAMADAN THE MONTH OF THE QURAN

The ninth month of the Hijri year (Muslim calendar). Ramadan is the month of the Quran and forgiveness. More than 1,400 years ago, the Quran was sent to Earth through the angel Jibril (alayhi selam) during one of the last 10 nights of Ramadan.

It is also the month of obligatory fasting which is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. Fasting during Ramadan is an act of worship and a test that brings us closer to the Almighty.

Ramadan is a month of mercy, love, sharing, fraternity and renewal. For 29 or 30 days, depending on the appearance of the new moon, the entire Muslim community will be in a state of fasting from sunrise to sunset. A strong, special and precious moment that we must take full advantage of it.

TO HELP YOU PREPARE FOR AND EXPERIENCE IT WELL, AL MAQAM SHARES SOME ADVICE*:

  • Be organized so as not to waste time and to enjoy every moment.
  • Create a personalized spiritual program taking into account your worldly activities.
  • Take advantage of prayer times to read and meditate on the Quran. You can also prepare a reading schedule according to your abilities. It is recommended to read it at least once during Ramadan, but remember that it is not a race. Everyone has their own pace. Know that the daily reading of the Quran must continue after Ramadan, and throughout our lives.
  • If possible, prepare a list of easy and quick meals to avoid spending too long in the kitchen. Be careful not to overeat and waste! Your body is fasting for more than 10 hours, so don’t give it foods that are too fatty or too rich in sugar. One of the goals of fasting during Ramadan is to lighten the body’s food intake and return to a healthy diet that is beneficial for the proper functioning of the body. And above all, don’t forget to stay hydrated!
  • Spend time with your families and loved ones to strengthen family bonds.
  • Do an introspection on your religious practice, your behavior and your relationship with Allah. Improve your faults, ask for forgiveness for your mistakes. Purify your soul and your hearts, renew your intentions to come out, God willing, from Ramadan grown and with a strengthened faith.

*These tips are not exhaustive, there are many other tips to draw all the wisdom and rewards from this sacred month.

PERFORMING UMRAH DURING RAMADAN: THE REWARDS ARE MULTIPLIED

As you can see, the holy month of Ramadan is an opportunity for Muslims to have a new start and to obtain forgiveness from the Most High.

It is also the month when many pilgrims choose to perform their Umrah. Indeed, the minor pilgrimage is a supererogatory act (sunnah). That is to say, it is not obligatory to do it, but strongly recommended if you have the means and the strength. Umrah is composed of several rites that must be correctly performed for it to be accepted.

Being in a state of fasting while performing your Umrah is an immense blessing from Allah. An incredible chance that will allow you to have as a reward the accomplishment of a hajj in the company of the best of men: our beloved prophet peace and blessings be upon him and his family. (According to a hadith reported by Bukhari and Muslim).
